24karats -type S-

The 24karats -type S- single was released in 2007 as a collaborative project between the R&B singer Sowelu, the dance and vocal group EXILE, and the hip-hop unit DOBERMAN INC. It served as a thematic extension of the 24karats brand, which was originally established by EXILE’s Hiro as a lifestyle and apparel label. The collaboration brought together distinct musical styles, blending Sowelu’s soulful vocals with the urban, high-energy performance aesthetic that defined EXILE’s creative output during this period.

The design and production were rooted in the cross-promotional strategies of Japan's major entertainment agencies, specifically LDH, to merge music with fashion culture. The project was intended to solidify the 24karats identity as a multifaceted brand beyond just clothing. Upon its release via DefSTAR Records, the single was marketed as an anthem for the label’s brand, receiving notable attention from the fanbases of the involved artists and further cementing the synergy between contemporary J-pop and Japanese streetwear trends.
