A Jolly Christmas From Frank Sinatra

Originally released in 1957 by Capitol Records, A Jolly Christmas from Frank Sinatra stands as one of the definitive holiday albums of the mid-twentieth century. Produced during Sinatra's tenure with Capitol, the record was designed to capture the cozy, orchestral warmth of the post-war American holiday aesthetic. It was crafted with arrangements by Gordon Jenkins and Ralph Carmichael, who utilized the lush string sections and choral backing that were signatures of Sinatra’s Capitol-era sound, aiming to evoke both religious solemnity and festive cheer.

The 2011 release on the Midnight Records label serves as a later reissue of this classic material. While the original release helped solidify Sinatra's reputation as a perennial interpreter of traditional American standards, this specific edition reflects the enduring commercial appeal of his holiday repertoire. These reissues are generally received by collectors as straightforward ways to experience high-fidelity remasters of the original sessions, ensuring that the sentimental, mid-century production choices continue to reach new generations of listeners.
