Where it came from
Released in 2006, the B+B album marks a significant collaboration between André Brunet and Éric Beaudry, two highly respected figures in the traditional Quebecois folk music scene. The project was conceived as a showcase for their instrumental prowess and their deep connection to the regional fiddling and guitar traditions of Lanaudière, aiming to capture the spontaneity of a live session within a polished studio environment.
The album reflects the duo's commitment to preserving and revitalizing Quebec’s musical heritage, blending traditional jigs, reels, and original compositions. Brunet, known for his work with groups like La Bottine Souriante, and Beaudry, a versatile multi-instrumentalist, designed the record to serve as both an homage to their mentors and a contemporary statement. It was well-received by traditional music enthusiasts for its technical precision and the evident chemistry between the two performers.
