Canoë Rose / Pleurer Des Rivières

Canoë Rose / Pleurer Des Rivières was released in 2004 as a single by the French-Belgian singer Viktor Lazlo under the amc label. This release served as part of Lazlo's later discography, revisiting her characteristic blend of jazz-influenced pop and sophisticated chanson that she had cultivated since her debut in the 1980s. The track features the polished, atmospheric production synonymous with her work, aiming to capture a nostalgic yet contemporary melodic sensibility.

Viktor Lazlo, born Sonia Dronier, became a prominent cultural figure in the mid-1980s, often noted for her elegant aesthetic and global appeal. While Canoë Rose is an original composition, its release reflects the ongoing interest in her vocal style, which bridges the gap between traditional French pop and international jazz standards. The design and sound of this 2004 release lean into the refined, moody minimalism that defined her career path following her breakthrough success with hits like Breathless.
