Where it came from
George's Best was released in 2017 by the George Dorn Quintet, a group emerging from the fertile alternative and indie rock scene of Luxembourg. This collection serves as a retrospective compilation, curated to document the band's sonic evolution and their significant impact on the local music landscape. It captures the raw energy and experimental spirit that characterized their earlier studio sessions, acting as a definitive portrait of their identity during that stage of their career.
The album reflects the band's commitment to independent production, released under their own Church of George imprint. The design aesthetics and selection of tracks were driven by the group's desire to consolidate their most resonant material for both long-time followers and new listeners. While the release remains a niche entry in the global music market, it was received within the European independent community as a sincere, well-crafted representation of the quintet's creative philosophy and their contribution to the modern rock genre.
