Jenji

The 2005 self-titled CD by the artist Jenji emerged from the independent, grassroots music scene of the mid-2000s. As a self-released project, it represents the era's transition toward artist-controlled distribution, allowing musicians to bypass traditional label gatekeepers. The work captures a specific moment in the artist's early creative output, emphasizing a raw, personal sound that functioned as a calling card for their evolving musical style during this period.

The album's design and presentation are hallmarks of early independent production, focusing on utility and authentic connection with a local audience rather than industry-standard marketing. Because this project was not picked up by a major distributor, information regarding its specific design team remains archival rather than public record. It remains a rare example of the independent DIY ethos that defined the early 2000s underground movement, valued by collectors for its status as an unvarnished piece of personal artistic history.
