Jennifer

Originally released in 1972 on the Parrot label, Jennifer serves as the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Jennifer Warnes. This 2007 release by the boutique label Rev-Ola represents a dedicated effort to reissue her earlier, often overlooked catalog for a new generation of listeners, ensuring that these formative recordings remain accessible to those who admire her later work with Leonard Cohen and her acclaimed film soundtracks.

The album is noted for its sophisticated folk-pop sensibilities and showcases Warnes’ early ability to interpret a diverse range of songwriters, including her own compositions alongside tracks by Bob Dylan and Randy Newman. By the time of this reissue, the production—originally overseen by John Cale—was widely recognized for its understated, warm arrangements, which critics frequently cite as a primary reason the record maintained its artistic relevance decades after its initial debut.
