Jerron Paxton & Dennis Lichtman

This collaborative recording captures the meeting of two prominent figures in the modern American roots music scene: multi-instrumentalist Dennis Lichtman and blues performer Jerron 'Blind Boy' Paxton. Produced as an intimate exploration of traditional jazz, blues, and folk, the album serves as a document of their spontaneous live chemistry. It was self-released by Lichtman to highlight a repertoire that draws heavily from pre-war acoustic traditions, emphasizing a stripped-back, authentic sound that prioritizes instrumental interplay over studio artifice.

The design of the release reflects its independent nature, favoring a functional, minimalist aesthetic that keeps the focus squarely on the musical partnership. By eschewing the resources of a major label, the duo maintained complete creative control, allowing for a raw capture of their improvisational approach. The project was received within the folk and roots community as a sincere homage to early twentieth-century American musical styles, praised for its technical proficiency and respect for historical source material.
