Where it came from
Released in 1995 on SMA Records, this eponymous album by the group Strawdogs stands as a product of the mid-1990s independent rock scene. The band, while relatively obscure in the broader commercial landscape of the decade, sought to capture the grit and raw energy prevalent in post-grunge and alternative guitar music, characteristic of the era's DIY recording ethos.
The album serves as a singular entry in the band's discography, reflecting a period where small labels played a vital role in distributing niche rock music before the full transition to digital streaming. Its production and design embody the aesthetic of 1990s underground releases, emphasizing a stripped-back, direct approach to both the visual presentation and the musical composition.
