Jul I Trinitatis Kirke Fredericia

Released in 2012, this recording features the Trinitatis Church Girls' Choir in Fredericia, Denmark, directed by organist and conductor Niels Erik Aggesen. The project was produced as a parish-led initiative to preserve the musical traditions associated with the historic church, specifically focusing on the atmospheric repertoire of the Danish Christmas season. It serves as a localized artifact of the long-standing tradition of church-based choral education in Denmark, where regional choirs play a vital role in communal and liturgical life.

The album reflects the austere and evocative aesthetic of Scandinavian choral music, prioritizing clarity of vocal tone and the natural resonance of the church's interior. The recording captures the ensemble's dedication to both traditional carols and contemporary arrangements suited to the space. As a private or limited-run production from the church itself, the design and execution lean toward an authentic, unpretentious documentation of the choir's skill, intended primarily for the local congregation and those seeking an intimate portrait of Danish liturgical music.
