Karen Cheryl + Liars Beware

This 2016 release serves as a compilation bringing together the discography of French pop singer Karen Cheryl, focusing on her late 1970s and early 1980s output. Karen Cheryl, the stage name of Isabelle Morizet, emerged during the late 1970s as a prominent figure in the French disco-pop scene. Her career was defined by a series of upbeat, radio-friendly tracks that capitalized on the Europop aesthetic of the era, characterized by polished production and high-energy synthesizers that appealed to a wide mainstream audience.

The album includes 'Liars Beware,' one of her notable tracks that reflects the stylistic shift toward English-language recordings common among European artists of the time. This compilation was curated to preserve the legacy of her Ibach Records tenure, a period when producer Jean-Claude Petit helped craft her distinct pop image. While often categorized as light entertainment in the French music landscape, her work remains a hallmark of the French television music variety era, celebrated by collectors of late-20th-century pop culture.
