Klaus Wunderlich & His Rhythm Group

This 2017 collection by Not Now Music serves as a retrospective compilation of Klaus Wunderlich’s prolific work as a German electronic organist. Wunderlich gained significant international popularity throughout the 1970s and 1980s for his innovative use of Hammond and Wersi organs to reinterpret pop, classical, and light entertainment standards, a style often categorized as 'easy listening' or 'pop-organ'.

Not Now Music compiled this release to curate the essential sound of Wunderlich’s rhythmic arrangements, which were characterized by sophisticated multi-tracking and the integration of early synthesizer textures. The collection reflects the specific production aesthetic of the era, where Wunderlich sought to bridge the gap between traditional orchestral arrangements and the emerging electronic possibilities of the mid-20th century.
