An Evening With Klaus Wunderlich

An Evening With Klaus Wunderlich was released in 2017 by Not Now Music as part of a series intended to preserve the legacy of mid-century popular organists. The album serves as a curated retrospective of the work of Klaus Wunderlich, a German musician who gained international acclaim for his innovative use of the Hammond organ and his ability to blend traditional easy listening with electronic textures.

Wunderlich became a household name throughout Europe during the 1960s and 1970s, noted for his prolific recording output and his mastery of the Wersi organ systems. His arrangements were defined by a signature rhythmic precision and light-hearted, accessible arrangements of both classical pieces and contemporary pop standards. The 2017 collection highlights his transition from pure organ performance to the layered, synthesized sounds that cemented his status as a pioneer of the light music genre.
