La Ciudad Del Hielo

La Ciudad Del Hielo, released in 2018, serves as a significant entry in the discography of Alberto Reyes. Produced independently under his own label, the album reflects an intimate creative period for the artist, characterized by an atmospheric soundscape that aims to translate the stark, crystalline imagery of its title—The City of Ice—into a musical narrative. It was developed during a phase where Reyes sought total creative autonomy, allowing for an experimental fusion of ambient textures and structured songcraft that distinguishes it from more commercial mainstream releases of the era.

The aesthetic direction of the album was helmed by Reyes himself, who emphasized a minimalist approach to production that mirrors the frigid, isolationist themes explored in the lyrics. By stripping away extraneous instrumental layers, the design of the record invites the listener into a singular, focused space. Upon its independent release, the album was received as a niche but evocative project, resonating primarily within experimental music circles that appreciated Reyes' commitment to a cohesive, high-concept auditory experience that prioritizes mood and texture over conventional pop sensibilities.
