Where it came from
Released in 2013 on the LVC-Records label, Lachen Deit Gaud! serves as a representative work of Klaus-Jürgen Schlettwein, an artist known for his specific focus on regional musical traditions and humor. The album emerged from a desire to capture and preserve the linguistic nuances and cultural atmosphere of his local surroundings, framed within a lighthearted and accessible acoustic style.
The design of the release reflects a straightforward, pragmatic approach typical of independent regional productions, prioritizing clarity and connection with a niche audience over high-concept graphic artistry. While not intended for the global commercial market, the record was received by its intended community as a sincere effort to document personal and traditional songs, cementing its place as a localized artifact of the 2010s independent music scene.
