Where it came from
Lamiastrata was released in 2017 through the independent Polish label Szataniec. It stands as a significant entry in the discography of Ceti, a heavy metal band founded by vocalist Grzegorz Kupczyk, formerly of the legendary Polish act Turbo. The album was conceived during a period of sustained creative output for the band, aiming to blend traditional heavy metal sensibilities with modern production techniques that define the contemporary Eastern European metal scene.
The album's design and thematic direction reflect the band’s commitment to intricate, often dark, conceptual storytelling which has been a hallmark of Kupczyk's career. Musically, it was received by the metal community as a consolidation of the band's power-metal roots, with critics highlighting the technical proficiency of the guitar work and the enduring strength of the vocal performances. It remains a representative work of Ceti’s mid-2010s era, catering to fans of classic European heavy metal tropes.
