Where it came from
Released in 2012 by Warner Music Italy, this project serves as a poignant musical dialogue between the legendary Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla and the jazz pianist Marco Di Marco. Conceived as a collaborative tribute to Dalla's expansive and emotive body of work, the album explores sophisticated arrangements that highlight the intersection of Dalla’s lyrical storytelling and Di Marco’s refined jazz sensibilities.
The production sought to revisit some of Dalla’s most iconic compositions through a new, improvisational lens. The artistic direction prioritized intimacy and atmospheric depth, aiming to strip back the studio polish of original tracks to reveal the core essence of the melodies. Upon its release, it was received as a respectful and thoughtful homage, serving as both a celebration of Dalla's enduring musical legacy and a showcase of the improvisational rapport between the two artists.
