Provenance

Where it came from

Naše Drugo Vandranje, released in 2007 on the Mandarina label, represents a specific chapter in the Slovenian folk and popular music scene. The album serves as a continuation of the Vandrovci's exploration of traditional musical motifs, blending regional instrumental styles with accessible production values intended for a broad audience. It was produced during a period when independent labels like Mandarina were pivotal in documenting and distributing folk-oriented projects that might otherwise have lacked a platform in the commercial mainstream.

The design and presentation of the album reflect the aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-2000s folk revival in Slovenia, prioritizing imagery that evokes a sense of local heritage and togetherness. While the specific graphic designer remains uncredited in general databases, the artwork was clearly intended to frame the group as approachable keepers of tradition. Upon its release, the record was received primarily by fans of the regional folk circuit, serving as a functional piece of cultural preservation that prioritized the group's established performance style over radical stylistic experimentation.
