Nathan Gray & Jesse Barnett

Released in 2019 through End Hits Records, this collaborative CD brings together Nathan Gray, known for his work with the post-hardcore band Boysetsfire, and Jesse Barnett, the vocalist of the melodic hardcore outfit Stick to Your Guns. The project emerged from a shared desire to explore stripped-back, acoustic-driven compositions that diverge from their respective bands' heavier sounds. By blending their distinct vocal styles and songwriting sensibilities, the two artists created a intimate record that focuses on lyrical vulnerability and melodic sincerity.

The design and artistic direction of the album reflect the minimalist and raw nature of the music itself, prioritizing an understated aesthetic that aligns with the folk-influenced shift of both performers. Upon its release, the project was received by fans of both artists as a thoughtful bridge between the aggressive energy of their primary musical catalogs and a more introspective, folk-leaning singer-songwriter approach. It serves as a testament to the versatility of both musicians and their willingness to step outside their comfort zones to collaborate on a personal project.
