Pavilón B

Pavilón B represents a significant entry in the discography of Radošinské naivné divadlo, a storied Slovak theatre ensemble founded in 1963 by Stanislav Štepka. Originally premiering as a stage play, the production continues the company's trademark style of blending rustic, tragi-comic narratives with sharp social commentary. This CD release from 2000 serves as an archival audio recording, capturing the distinctive performances, musical motifs, and dialogue that define the troupe's aesthetic during this period.

The creative identity of the work is inseparable from the vision of Stanislav Štepka, who wrote the script and lyrics, often infusing the performance with local dialect and observational humor. The music, composed by Ján Melkovič, provides a rhythmic and melodic backbone that complements the theatrical pacing of the RND ensemble. Upon its release, the recording was well-received by devotees of Slovak cultural history, functioning as a permanent record of a performance that occupies a specific place in the post-socialist theatrical landscape.
