Querido Bill Tributo A Bill Evans

Released in 2006 on the MDR label, Querido Bill Tributo A Bill Evans serves as a heartfelt homage by Argentine bassist Alfredo Remus to the iconic American jazz pianist Bill Evans. Remus, a foundational figure in the Argentine jazz scene who famously performed with Gato Barbieri and recorded with Astor Piazzolla, sought to capture the lyrical, introspective essence that defined Evans's legacy. The project emerged from a deep personal appreciation for the harmonic sophistication that Evans introduced to the piano trio format.

The album features Remus leading a trio through a selection of standards and pieces closely associated with Evans, reflecting the bassist's career-long dedication to acoustic jazz traditions. By focusing on the melodic sensitivity and interplay central to Evans's work, Remus created a bridge between the vibrant Buenos Aires jazz community and the seminal American jazz canon. The recording was well-received by regional jazz enthusiasts, cementing Remus’s reputation as an elder statesman who honors his influences with technical precision and emotional restraint.
