Where it came from
Régiségek is a collaborative musical project released in 2015 by Nándor Galambos and László Peck under the GrundRecords label. The album emerged within the contemporary Hungarian folk-fusion landscape, drawing heavily from the stylistic traditions of Hungarian folk music while incorporating modern acoustic arrangements and instrumentation. It reflects a deliberate effort to preserve and reinterpret traditional musical motifs for a modern audience.
The album’s design and artistic direction prioritize an earthy, nostalgic aesthetic, often associated with the 'táncház' or folk dance house movement in Hungary. Galambos and Peck aimed to create a soundscape that felt both historically grounded and technically refined. Upon its release, the work was received as a sincere contribution to the Hungarian folk revival, noted for its emphasis on technical proficiency and its respectful approach to regional musical heritage.
