Where it came from
S_traits is a collaborative experimental project released by Bill Seaman and John Supko through the boutique label Cotton Goods. The work emerged from the duo's ongoing interest in generative processes, blending Seaman’s background in media art and poetic composition with Supko’s expertise in experimental music and algorithmic sound design.
The album is characterized by its procedural approach, where digital frameworks and human interpretation intersect. The aesthetic design and composition reflect an attempt to create a living, evolving structure rather than a static recording, aligning with the label’s focus on atmospheric and avant-garde soundscapes. It received attention within contemporary music circles for its intricate layering and the seamless integration of synthetic and organic elements.
