Where it came from
Satélite Virginia's self-titled 2013 debut serves as a definitive statement from the band, emerging from the vibrant and introspective indie rock scene in Argentina. Created during a period of creative transition, the album was released independently, reflecting the band's commitment to maintaining artistic autonomy over their sound. The project sought to blend atmospheric textures with driving rhythms, capturing a specific mid-2010s aesthetic of melancholic yet energetic songcraft.
The album's design and sonic identity were shaped by the band members themselves, who aimed for a raw, unfiltered expression of their musical influences. By handling the production and release without a major label, they cultivated an intimate connection with their listeners. Upon its release, the record was well-received within regional alternative circles, praised for its cohesive mood and the sincerity of its songwriting, marking an important milestone in the group's development.
