Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 2003 on the experimental label Metak, this collaborative CD represents a specific moment in the early 2000s underground electronic and sound-art scene. Metak, founded by Francisco López, was renowned for its commitment to experimental soundscapes, non-traditional compositions, and the exploration of silence and noise, often prioritizing the physical object of the CD as a canvas for minimalist artistic expression.

The collaboration between Sen and Hendrik Röver fits into the label's ethos of bridging disparate approaches to audio manipulation. While Sen focused on intricate, textured sound design, Röver brought his own distinct approach to instrumental and atmospheric composition. The release is characterized by its stark, austere packaging and clinical aesthetic, typical of the Metak catalog, which sought to distance itself from conventional music industry tropes in favor of pure sonic inquiry.
