Where it came from
Six String Love Affair was released in 2013 as a self-produced studio album by the Norwegian country musician Steffen Jakobsen. This project emerged following his rise to national prominence as a finalist on the Norwegian version of American Idol, providing him the platform to record a collection of songs that leaned into his signature blend of modern country and Americana influences.
The album reflects Jakobsen's commitment to the singer-songwriter tradition, showcasing his gravelly vocal style and focus on narrative-driven songwriting. As an independent release, the record was designed to establish his identity as a solo artist outside of the reality television competition framework, prioritizing an authentic, guitar-led sound that resonated with the burgeoning country music scene in Norway at the time.
