Stretnutie s tichom

Stretnutie s tichom, released in 1998 by the label Bonton, represents a significant collaboration between the prominent Slovak singer-songwriter Pavol Hammel and the acclaimed poet and lyricist Kamil Peteraj. Coming at a point in Hammel's career where he was deeply established as a foundational figure in Slovak popular music, this project served as a creative bridge between his progressive rock roots and a more mature, introspective acoustic sound. The album was conceived as a reflection on the passage of time and the complexities of human emotion, themes that Peteraj’s evocative lyrics were specifically crafted to capture.

The album's design and atmospheric quality were deeply influenced by the duo's long-standing partnership, which spanned decades of creative work in the Slovak music industry. Hammel sought to create a record that felt sparse and intimate, stripping away the heavy production often associated with his earlier works to emphasize the resonance of the lyrics. Upon its release, it was met with appreciation from critics and long-term listeners for its lyrical depth and the subtle, nuanced composition that allowed Hammel's distinct vocal style to anchor the emotional core of the songs.
