Toward A Season Of Peace

Released in 2014 by Naxos, Toward a Season of Peace features the choral and orchestral work of American composer Richard Danielpour. The album was born out of a desire to capture a sense of universal human yearning and reflection, utilizing the text of the Kaddish alongside other contemplative themes. Danielpour is known for his ability to synthesize romantic traditions with contemporary sensibilities, and this recording documents a high-profile collaboration between the Pacific Symphony and the Pacific Chorale.

The production brought together conductor Carl St. Clair and soprano Hila Plitmann, both of whom have frequently championed Danielpour’s music. By recording under the Naxos label, the work was positioned to reach a broad international audience, contributing to the composer's catalog of large-scale vocal works. Upon its release, the recording was recognized for its technical clarity and the emotional resonance of the performances, solidifying its place in the modern classical choral repertoire.
