Where it came from
Released in 2019 under the Scene Records label, the CD 'Yes-2-5-Roger-Roger' represents an entry in the discography of the artist known as Dice. This project emerged during a period of experimentation within the underground electronic and experimental music scenes, where artists often utilized independent distribution platforms to reach niche audiences. The release serves as a reflection of the artist's evolving soundscape, characterized by the atmospheric and textured production styles typical of the label's aesthetic during the late 2010s.
The visual design and sonic direction of the release were curated to align with the distinct, minimalist branding established by Scene Records. While details regarding the specific graphic designer are not widely documented, the packaging reflects a deliberate move toward lo-fi and conceptual art, intended to mirror the abstract nature of the audio content. Upon its release, the CD was primarily discussed within specialized music communities and digital forums focused on experimental music, where it was noted for its departure from traditional song structures.
