100 Heinz Hoogtepunten #6

The 100 Heinz Hoogtepunten series serves as a curated retrospective of the legendary comic strip character Heinz, the cynical, anthropomorphic cat created by the Dutch cartoonist René Windig and Eddie de Jong. Published in the Netherlands, this collection emerged from the duo's long-running strip, which debuted in 1987 in the weekly magazine De Nieuwe Revu. The series was designed to showcase the most iconic and absurd moments of a character defined by his misanthropic outlook and the surreal, often dark humor that characterized the creators' collaborative style.

The design of these booklets focuses on a minimalist presentation, stripping away the supplemental magazine context to highlight the intricate, frantic, and highly detailed pen-and-ink illustrations that became the hallmark of the strip. Windig and de Jong utilized the medium to subvert traditional comic tropes, and this particular issue contributes to that legacy by archiving the creative peaks of their collaboration. Upon its release, the collection was well-received by fans of Dutch underground comics, solidifying the strip's status as a staple of the European graphic storytelling scene.
