100 Heinz Hoogtepunten #7

The 100 Heinz Hoogtepunten series serves as a curated retrospective of the legendary Dutch comic strip Heinz, created by the artist duo René Windig and Eddie de Jong. Published in the Netherlands, this collection aims to distill the cynical, absurd, and often darkly humorous essence of the titular anthropomorphic cat. The strip, which debuted in the late 1980s, became a cultural staple of Dutch alternative comics, noted for its rejection of traditional narrative structures in favor of surrealist wit and biting social commentary.

The design and editorial focus of this issue reflect Windig and De Jong’s signature 'Kapot' style—an approach defined by its raw, chaotic energy and disregard for conventional aesthetic polish. By selecting iconic highlights from the series, this publication acts as both a tribute to the creators' long-standing collaboration and a gateway for new readers to engage with the subversive tone that defined Heinz's impact on the European graphic novel landscape.
