Adventure Comics #345

Published in June 1966 by DC Comics, Adventure Comics #345 serves as a significant entry in the Silver Age of comic books. During this period, the title was the primary home for the Legion of Super-Heroes, a futuristic team of teenage super-powered teenagers from the 30th century. The issue was crafted during a time when the series was transitioning from a backup feature to the headline attraction, reflecting the growing cultural appetite for youth-oriented science fiction narratives.

The issue features artwork by Curt Swan, the quintessential Superman artist of the era whose clean, grounded aesthetic defined the look of the DC universe for decades. The story was scripted by Jim Shooter, who began his storied career as a writer for the Legion at the remarkably young age of 13. His arrival brought a new sense of interpersonal drama and complex continuity to the team, and his work on this title is widely credited with establishing the Legion's enduring mythology among comic historians.
