Akaboshi: Yìwén Shuǐhǔ Zhuàn #2

Akaboshi: Yìwén Shuǐhǔ Zhuàn was a manga series illustrated by Amano Yōichi and published in Weekly Shōnen Jump starting in 2009. The series served as a loose, modernized reimagining of the classic Chinese literary epic Water Margin, focusing on the character Taisō as he seeks out the 108 Star Lords in a fantastical, stylized setting. Amano's art style was noted for its sharp lines and distinct character designs, reflecting the typical high-energy aesthetic of late-2000s shōnen titles.

The second issue, or chapter, continues the introduction of the protagonist's journey and his initial encounters within the story's world. Despite the strong pedigree of its publication, the series struggled to gain significant traction with readers and was ultimately short-lived, concluding its run relatively quickly. While it remains a niche entry in the landscape of Jump titles, it is often discussed by collectors who appreciate Amano Yōichi’s subsequent contributions to the manga industry.
