All-Star Squadron #10

Published in June 1982, All-Star Squadron #10 was part of a retrospective series launched by DC Comics to explore the Earth-Two versions of their classic Golden Age heroes during the Second World War. Created by writer Roy Thomas, the series was designed to weave existing archival history into a cohesive narrative, providing a detailed look at the internal politics and missions of the Justice Society of America and their auxiliary members. This issue specifically centers on the ongoing conflict with the Ultra-Humanite, reflecting Thomas's deep appreciation for continuity and the pulp sensibilities of the 1940s.

The cover and interior art for this period were heavily influenced by the style of Jerry Ordway, whose work on the series is celebrated for balancing a modern 1980s aesthetic with the classic visual tone of the 1940s. Ordway’s meticulous linework helped establish the Squadron’s identity as a distinct, period-specific team within the broader DC Multiverse. The series was well-received by fans of historical comic continuity and remains a benchmark for the company's efforts to honor its legacy characters through structured, long-form storytelling.
