Ascendance of a Bookworm: Ich Will Alles Tun, um Bibliothekarin zu Werden! - I. Wenn es Keine Bücher Gibt, Muss Ich Eben Welche Machen #1

Ascendance of a Bookworm, originally titled Honzuki no Gekokujō, began as a web novel series written by Miya Kazuki, first published on the user-generated site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2013. The story follows Urano Motosu, a book-obsessed university student who dies and is reincarnated into the body of a frail young girl named Myne in a world with a low literacy rate and limited access to books. This specific volume marks the German-language publication of the manga adaptation, which illustrates the protagonist's determined efforts to manufacture paper and ink to recreate the literature she loves.

The manga adaptation features art by Suzuka and serves to visualize the intricate world-building of Kazuki’s narrative. Published in Germany by Altraverse, this edition reflects the global expansion of the franchise, which has garnered a significant following for its meticulous depiction of the creative process and the social hurdles of Myne's new life. The design and presentation maintain the aesthetic standards of the Japanese original, aiming to capture the blend of slice-of-life storytelling and fantasy world-building that defines the series.
