Baby Garfield #4

Baby Garfield was a spin-off comic series published by Marvel Comics under their Star Comics imprint during the mid-1980s. This series reimagined the famously cynical, lasagna-loving cat as a kitten, shifting the tone to appeal to a younger demographic. Created in the wake of the original Jim Davis comic strip's massive global popularity, the series utilized a lighter, more whimsical art style to suit the target audience of children.

The creative direction for these issues focused on gentle, episodic adventures that deviated from the dry wit of the primary strip. While these comics were widely distributed through newsstands and comic shops, they are often viewed as a historical curiosity of the 1980s licensing boom. Because they were marketed as mass-market children's entertainment, they were typically intended for casual reading rather than archival preservation, making clean copies a nostalgic touchstone for collectors of the era.
