Batman #184

Batman #184 was published by DC Comics in August 1966, arriving during the peak of the mid-1960s Batmania craze fueled by the popular Adam West television series. This era of the title was defined by a shift toward more lighthearted, campy storytelling designed to appeal to the show's wide audience, moving away from the darker tones that would return to the character in later decades.

The issue features cover art by Carmine Infantino, whose clean, modernist lines became the visual standard for the Silver Age Batman. Inside, the primary story features the work of writer Gardner Fox and artist Sheldon Moldoff, who were instrumental in maintaining the house style of the period. Like many issues of this vintage, it reflects the editorial focus on high-concept adventures and colorful adversaries that characterized DC's output before the major creative shifts of the late 1960s.
