Batman: Bad Seeds - Sunset #1

Batman: Bad Seeds - Sunset #1 arrived as part of the broader Batman: Bad Seeds initiative, a limited series project designed to explore darker, more atmospheric corners of Gotham City. Published during a period where DC Comics was experimenting with stylized, self-contained narratives, this issue was crafted to serve as an entry point for a more experimental tone, shifting the focus toward the psychological decay of Gotham's lesser-known figures rather than traditional caped crusader archetypes.

The visual direction for the series prioritized a gritty, noir-inspired aesthetic intended to reflect the unstable environment of the narrative. Illustrations for this issue utilized high-contrast shadows and muted color palettes to mirror the thematic undertones of the script. Upon release, it was noted by critics for its departure from standard superhero bright-work, finding an audience primarily among collectors interested in the evolution of Gotham-based world-building rather than mainstream continuity.
