Batman Beyond #8

Batman Beyond #8 was published by DC Comics in 1999 as part of the original comic book miniseries tied to the popular animated television series. The show debuted in early 1999, introducing a futuristic Gotham City under the mentorship of an elderly Bruce Wayne to the protagonist Terry McGinnis. This comic run was designed to expand the narrative landscape of the Neo-Gotham universe, maintaining the dark, cyberpunk aesthetic established by animators Bruce Timm and Paul Dini.

The interior art for this issue was handled by a rotating creative team standard for the DC animated tie-ins of the era, focusing on translating the show’s distinct angular character designs into a sequential comic format. While the series was aimed at a younger demographic familiar with the television program, it was well-received by fans for its ability to bridge the gap between the animated series' tone and the traditional DC comic continuity, eventually spawning ongoing series and a dedicated fanbase that continues to revisit these early issues.
