Bear's Tooth #3

Bear's Tooth, a historical thriller series created by writer Yann Le Pennetier and artist Alain Henriet, was published by Éditions Dargaud starting in 2013. The series is set against the backdrop of the Second World War, weaving together the lives of three childhood friends—two German and one Jewish-American—whose paths diverge as the conflict intensifies. The third installment continues this narrative arc, focusing on the harrowing realities of aerial warfare and the shifting loyalties brought on by the encroaching Nazi regime.

Alain Henriet’s illustrations are noted for their meticulous attention to technical detail, particularly regarding the vintage aircraft depicted throughout the series. The aesthetic design aims for a cinematic realism that balances the technical requirements of the aviation elements with the emotional gravity of the human drama. Upon its release, the series garnered positive attention from the Franco-Belgian comics community for its rigorous historical research and the compelling, often somber, character development provided by Yann.
