Boule & Bill #10

Boule & Bill, created by the Belgian cartoonist Jean Roba in 1959, represents a staple of Franco-Belgian comics, focusing on the humorous daily life of a young boy named Boule and his exuberant Cocker Spaniel, Bill. By the time the tenth volume of the series was released in the mid-1970s, the characters had become icons of a gentle, domestic comedy style that prioritized expressive visual storytelling and situational humor over high-stakes adventure.

The design of the series evolved under Roba’s guidance, moving toward a cleaner, more fluid aesthetic that captured the chaotic energy of the household dynamic. The tenth volume serves as a clear illustration of Roba's signature approach, which was widely received at the time as a warm reflection of family life. It remains a celebrated entry in the collection, lauded for its ability to maintain consistency in tone and character design throughout its long-running publication history.
