Boule & Bill #17

Boule & Bill number 17, originally titled 'Bill a disparu,' was released in the late 1980s as part of the long-running Belgian comic series created by Jean Roba. The series originated in 1959 within the pages of Spirou magazine, centering on the gentle domestic adventures of a young boy named Boule and his exuberant Cocker Spaniel, Bill. By the time this installment was published, the series had established itself as a cornerstone of the Franco-Belgian comics tradition, celebrated for its warmth and its astute, observational humor regarding the dynamics between humans and their pets.

The artistic direction of the series remained firmly rooted in Roba's signature style, characterized by fluid, expressive linework and a deep understanding of canine anatomy and behavior. In this era of the series, Roba continued to refine the visual storytelling that defined the franchise, focusing on tight-knit domestic narratives rather than grand adventure. The issue was received as a standard entry in the series, maintaining the high standards of character consistency and gentle wit that fans had come to expect from the beloved duo over several decades.
