Boule & Bill #33

Boule & Bill, created by Jean Roba in 1959, has long been a cornerstone of Franco-Belgian comics, centering on the lighthearted domestic adventures of a young boy and his affectionate cocker spaniel. The series is defined by its gentle humor and Roba’s expressive, fluid art style, which captures the rhythmic chaos of suburban family life. Over decades, the series maintained its identity as a staple of the Spirou magazine, grounding its appeal in the universal bond between children and their pets.

Volume 33, titled 'Graine de cocker' and published in 2005, represents the period when the series transitioned under the creative stewardship of Laurent Verron. Following Roba's retirement, Verron worked closely with the original creator to preserve the visual legacy and spirit of the characters. This issue was well-received by fans for its commitment to the classic aesthetic and tone, serving as a successful continuation that honored the foundational work of the series while navigating the challenges of creative succession.
