Boule et Bill #17

Boule et Bill #17, titled 'Tu te rappelles, Bill?', was published in 1982 during the long-running tenure of Jean Roba, who both wrote and illustrated the series. The comic originates from the Franco-Belgian tradition of humorous family strips, focusing on the everyday adventures of a young boy named Boule and his witty Cocker Spaniel, Bill. By the time this seventeenth volume was released, the series had become a staple of Franco-Belgian comics, celebrated for its gentle humor and Roba's expressive, dynamic line work that captured the essence of suburban life and canine behavior.

The design of the volume adheres to the classic format established by Dupuis, showcasing Roba's signature style that prioritizes visual gags and the expressive bond between the human and animal leads. Roba often drew inspiration from his own family life and his actual Cocker Spaniel, Bill, infusing the work with a sense of authenticity that resonated deeply with readers. Upon its release, the album was well-received by fans of the series, cementing its place within a broader body of work that has been translated into numerous languages and remains a benchmark for family-oriented bandes dessinées.
