Boule et Bill #21

Boule et Bill volume 21, titled 'Redoutez le voisinage !', was published in 1991 as part of the long-running Franco-Belgian comics series created by Jean Roba in 1959. By the early 1990s, the series was well-established as a staple of the journal Spirou, capturing the everyday antics of a young boy named Boule and his exuberant Cocker Spaniel, Bill. This specific volume reflects the gentle, observational humor that defined Roba's work, focusing on domestic life and the humorous friction between neighbors.

The design of the series consistently emphasized Roba's expressive, fluid linework, which allowed for dynamic visual gags that transcended language barriers. Roba often drew inspiration from his own life, particularly his observations of his family's cocker spaniel, which informed the characterization of Bill. Throughout the series, the consistent character design and thematic consistency helped maintain a wide and loyal audience, solidifying the series as a classic of European comics heritage.
