Boule et Bill #22

Boule et Bill, the beloved Belgian comic strip chronicling the adventures of a young boy and his cocker spaniel, was created by Jean Roba in 1959. Issue number 22, titled 'Station Bill,' continues the series' signature gentle humor and observational domestic comedy that defined the Franco-Belgian comics landscape for decades. By the time this volume was released, the series had firmly established itself as a staple of Spirou magazine, celebrated for Roba’s expressive, rounded drawing style and his keen ability to anthropomorphize canine behavior.

The design and artistic direction of this volume remain consistent with the series' long-standing aesthetic, which prioritizes clarity and warmth. Roba’s work was widely received as a pinnacle of family-oriented bande dessinée, valued for its ability to balance slapstick elements with genuine affection between the characters. As part of the later canon of the original series, issue 22 reflects the enduring legacy of a creative vision that successfully transitioned through generations while maintaining the core dynamic of the iconic duo.
