Bungo Stray Dogs: Dazai, Chūya, Jūgo-Sai #1

Bungo Stray Dogs: Dazai, Chūya, Jūgo-Sai, also known as Fifteen, originated as a light novel written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It was released to expand the lore of the Bungo Stray Dogs franchise, specifically focusing on the formative years of key characters Osamu Dazai and Chūya Nakahara during their initial alliance within the Port Mafia. The narrative serves as a prequel, providing essential context to their complex and contentious relationship.

The design and artistic direction follow the established aesthetic of the series, characterized by Harukawa's distinct character designs and melancholic, atmospheric imagery. The story was received well by the series' established fanbase, as it successfully bridged gaps in the established timeline and offered deeper psychological insight into the protagonists. It was later adapted into the anime format, further solidifying its place as a significant entry in the overarching Bungo Stray Dogs mythos.
