Captain Paragon and the Sentinels of Justice #2

Captain Paragon and the Sentinels of Justice #2 is a notable installment in the short-lived superhero series published by Charlton Comics during the mid-1970s. The character of Captain Paragon, created by writer Joe Gill and artist Jim Aparo, was developed as part of a push to revitalize superhero archetypes within the Charlton stable, drawing heavily on the classic tropes of the Golden Age of comics while navigating the shifting, more cynical trends of the Bronze Age.

The series is often discussed by collectors for its earnest adherence to traditional hero narratives despite the era's lean toward grittier storytelling. While Joe Gill provided the foundational scripts that defined Paragon's stoic personality, the art often featured a rotating team of illustrators who aimed for a clean, bold aesthetic that resonated with younger readers. Though not a massive commercial success at the time of its release, the issue remains a distinct example of the transitional period in comic book history.
