Captain Paragon and the Sentinels of Justice #5

Captain Paragon and the Sentinels of Justice was a notable title published by Charlton Comics during the late 1970s. The series was designed to tap into the nostalgia for Golden Age archetypes, presenting a classic superhero team dynamic in a period when the genre was undergoing significant tonal shifts. It served as a creative outlet for writers and artists seeking to explore traditional heroism within the established Charlton house style, which often favored a straightforward, pulp-inspired narrative approach.

The creative direction for the series focused on reviving the spirit of mid-century heroics, with Captain Paragon acting as the core protagonist around whom the Sentinels of Justice orbited. While the title is remembered for its place in the Charlton superhero library, it was eventually swept up in the industry-wide changes that saw Charlton move away from original superhero content. The series remains a quiet fixture for collectors interested in the transition period of bronze-age comics and the history of independent publishing houses.
