C'est Où, le Plus Loin d'Ici? #1

C'est Où, le Plus Loin d'Ici? is a notable French graphic novel work written by Sébastien Gnaedig and illustrated by Nicolas Dumontheuil. Published by Futuropolis, this narrative emerged from a tradition of French contemporary comics that prioritize atmospheric storytelling and introspective character studies over high-octane action. The work explores themes of travel, existential restlessness, and the human search for meaning, positioning the reader alongside characters who are literal and metaphorical wanderers.

The aesthetic of the first issue reflects Dumontheuil's distinctively loose and expressive linework, which complements the melancholic and meditative tone of Gnaedig’s writing. Upon its release, the series was received as a sensitive piece of literary comics, noted by critics for its evocative use of pacing and visual negative space. It represents a significant example of the author-driven approach favored by the Futuropolis imprint during this period of European independent publishing.
